Virtue Damage Reverse™ Serum Review
In today’s post, I’ll be talking about Virtue Damage Reverse™ Serum, a leave-in treatment that really makes a difference in my hair. Below, I’ll explore my experience and explain why it deserves a spot in my haircare routine.
The formula contains Alpha Keratin 60ku®, Virtue’s exclusive protein that strengthens and repairs hair from the inside out. This unique ingredient is part of all Virtue products but is included at its highest concentration in this serum. It also features a blend of emollients and humectants, including squalane, sunflower seed oil, maltodextrin, trehalose, galactoarabinan, glycerin, panthenol, xylitol, and tremella extract.
A blend of polymers and UV absorbers protects the hair, while sessile oak, green tea extract, quaking aspen extract, centella asiatica extract, and palmitoyl dipeptide-52 protect against oxidative stress and damage. Additionally, linseed extract, sunflower extract, rice seed protein, rice bran extract, hydrolyzed linseed seed, phospholipids, and amino acids work together to strengthen and soften each strand. A blend of chia extract, grapefruit extract, and tara extract improves hair strength and enhances shine, while rosemary extract and Copper Tripeptide-34 help increase blood circulation, extend the growth cycle, and strengthen the hair.
The serum has a lightweight, lotion-like texture that absorbs quickly. It doesn’t weigh it down, leaves no greasy residue, and has a non-sticky finish. However, I use no more than two pumps, as applying extra product can make it feel a bit greasy. For reference, my hair is thin, colour-treated, and damaged with dry ends.
The Virtue Damage Reverse™ Serum has a lovely fragrance with notes of coconut and citrus that I really enjoy. It’s subtle and not overpowering.
I first received a sample of this and didn’t expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. After just a few uses, I noticed a significant improvement in my hair. Virtue Damage Reverse™ Serum conditions my hair very well, leaving it feeling much more manageable, smooth, and soft. The ends look less crackly and brittle, and while my split ends haven’t disappeared entirely, they appear and feel much healthier. My hair colour also looks more luminous with this serum.
The brand recommends applying Virtue Damage Reverse Serum to damp or dry hair before styling, but I don’t find it very effective on dry hair. I use no more than a couple of pumps on wet, towel-dried hair, applying it to all but the roots before combing it through. It helps detangle and soften my hair, making it much more manageable and less frizzy. I’ve been struggling with hair loss and breakage, but I’ve noticed fewer tangles, which means less breakage—a real improvement for me.
All in all, Virtue Damage Reverse™ Serum totally lives up to its promises and works great on my hair. However, this is quite a pricey product, so I only repurchase it when it’s on sale. Last time, I managed to get it on sale as part of the Virtue Daily Damage Repair Essentials, which already offers 25% savings, and it was an absolute bargain.
