Hi everyone! Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner, a gentle exfoliating toner for smoother, more hydrated, and healthy glowing skin. Now, let’s get started and learn more about this product.
This formulation contains a 30% concentration of saccharomyces ferment, a yeast ferment technology with 3% fermented N-acetylglucosamine (NAG). Saccharomyces ferment helps maintain hydration, refine uneven skin texture, and support skin barrier, while NAG gently exfoliates to improve texture and enhance radiance.
To be honest, The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner has such a gentle exfoliating benefit that I wouldn’t class it as an exfoliating toner per se. It’s more of a moisturising milky toner with a limited exfoliating benefit.
The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner is gentle enough for daily use, both morning and evening, directly after cleansing. It can be applied to the face and neck using either cotton pads or fingers. I prefer applying with my fingers since cotton pads absorb a lot of product, but both ways work well. It sinks into the skin quickly without leaving a sticky residue. It’s worth noting that the toner has a runny texture, so you’ll need to pour it carefully to avoid wasting the product.
The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Tonic has a quite funky fermented smell reminiscent of yeast. It’s noticeable but not overpowering. Personally, I don’t mind the smell, and it fades away quickly.
This is a lovely milky toner that is gentle and truly hydrating, even more than I expected. After using it, my skin feels soft, plump, and has a healthy glow, without feeling tight or dry. It really gives my complexion a glassy, milky look. Overall, I find it more of a hydrating product, as I don’t notice any exfoliating benefits on my skin.
For reference, my skin is combination and usually breaks out in warmer months and during my period. This product didn’t cause any breakouts and never irritated my skin. It feels more hydrating than I expected. For my combination skin, it seems more suitable for the colder months, but for dry skin, it would likely work well at any time of the year.
Overall, I think The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner is a very nice product, especially for its price. It definitely met my expectations, and I would happily repurchase it.
