Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30 Review

Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30 Review

In today’s review, I’m sharing my experience with the Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30, a glow-enhancing sunscreen enriched with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and panthenol. Let’s take a quick look at this product to see if it’s worth trying.

Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30

The formula contains octocrylene (which protects the skin against UVB rays and some UVA II rays and enhances the photostability of avobenzone), ethylhexyl salicylate (also known as octisalate, which protects against UVB rays), butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (also known as avobenzone, which protects the skin against UVA rays), homosalete (which protects the skin against UVB rays), and butyloctyl salicylate to stabilise avobenzone and enhance water resistance.

It also includes a blend of glycerin, hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5, arginine, and phospholipids to boost the skin’s hydration. Additionally, a blend of niacinamide, sea lavender, vitamin E, ferulic acid, and cocoa seed extract provides antioxidant protection while hydrating the skin.

The product has a lightweight texture with a beige tint. It leaves zero white cast, though it feels a bit sticky on my skin. I found that it pills when I use certain skincare products underneath, which is a big turnoff for me. Another concern I’ve encountered is that it looks a little too bronzey on my pale skin, especially when I apply a proper amount of sunscreen without makeup.

The Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30 doesn’t have an unpleasant or overwhelming smell like some other SPF’s. Yet, It does have a faint sunscreeny smell, which disappears over time, so it doesn’t bother me much.

This is a lovely product if you’re looking for a glow under your makeup, but I find it can look a bit too much like a “tin man” effect if I don’t apply makeup over it. For my combination skin, it can be a bit too shiny and greasy throughout the day without makeup. I do like it as an SPF primer under makeup, as it evens out skin tone and gives a lovely glow. It works great under makeup, leaves a subtle glow, and sits beautifully on the skin.

My main concern is that when using Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30 as a primer, I’m not applying the correct amount (1/4 tsp), so it doesn’t work as an actual protective sunscreen. If I do apply the correct amount, it starts to pill badly, accentuates skin texture, and gives an almost metallic sheen to my skin.

For reference, my skin is combination and thin, with a tendency to break out during warmer weather and my period. Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30 doesn’t cause breakouts or irritate my skin.

I had high hopes for this product, as I really like the brand, but unfortunately, Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF30 didn’t meet my expectations. Given the issues I’ve mentioned above, I won’t be repurchasing this product.

Thanks for the review! I tried this out, it’s way too shiny and greasy for me. Unseen is ok, though.

Many thanks for the feedback it’s been very helpful. I have one unopened and I didn’t know it’s tinted. I really dislike when something peels.
