Marc Jacobs Beauty Makeup Review
Marc Jacobs Beauty is back, and the relaunch has been getting a lot of hype. Along with the beautiful new packaging, the brand has introduced a new line-up of products. I couldn’t resist trying a few of the new launches, so I picked up the Legally Bronze Bronzer, Joystick Blush Stick, Born Star Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow, Money Shot Multi-Use Illuminating Gel Highlighter, and Drawn This Way Longwear Eyeliner. After putting them to the test, I’m ready to share my thoughts.
I should also say that I love the packaging. It looks incredible and consistent with brand identity. I’d say the packaging isn’t that heavy, more on the plasticky side, but feels very cute.
Marc Jacobs Legally Bronze Bronzer
The Marc Jacobs Legally Bronze Bronzer is a buildable, versatile bronzing powder designed for an all-over sun-kissed glow or softly sculpted definition. The bronzer has a smooth and blendable texture that is really easy to work with.
I picked up 10 Fair, the lightest shade in the range, and I ended up liking it much more than I expected. The shade works perfectly on my fair skin without looking overly warm. It gives my skin a lovely sun-kissed warmth and doesn’t turn orange or muddy. It leaves a blurring finish and lasts all day.

Marc Jacobs Born Star Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow
The Marc Jacobs Born Star Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow in Hater is a matte chocolate brown eyeshadow. Although it looks like a typical powder eyeshadow, it actually goes on like a cream, making it easy to smoke out the bottom lash line without fallout. It applies smoothly, with no crumbling or pilling. It also blends beautifully and gives that effortless, smoked-out look without going patchy.
I have the shade Hater, and it’s versatile enough for both day and night looks. For such a dark matte shade, there is very little colour payoff. However, I like that I can easily build it up if I want a deeper look or blend it out for a softer, more diffused look. I’d love to try more shades or even see an eyeshadow palette made with this formula.

Marc Jacobs Joystick Blush Stick
The Marc Jacobs Joystick Blush Stick is a multi-use lip and cheek balm in a vibrant, fresh pink shade. I literally love everything about this blush stick, from its stunning colour to its adorable packaging. The formula feels lightweight and comfortable, never heavy or greasy. It glides onto the skin smoothly and blends beautifully, leaving a fresh, glowy finish.
Hot Flush is a beautiful everyday shade for a fresh, natural look. The colour payoff is lovely and easy to build, so you can go from a soft flush to a brighter pop of pink. It also gives the skin such a lovely, healthy glow. It fades after a few hours on my combination skin, as most cream blushes do, especially if I don’t set it. Layering it with a powder or setting spray does help to prolong its wear.

Marc Jacobs Money Shot Multi-Use Illuminating Gel Highlighter
The Marc Jacobs Money Shot Multi-Use Illuminating Gel Highlighter in One is a water-based jelly highlighter for the face and body with a multi-dimensional glow. Honestly, this product is a huge miss for me. It’s goopy, patchy, and doesn’t spread, and the glitter doesn’t distribute well on the skin. It reminds me far more of cheap body glitter or glitter jelly for kids than a highlighter with a £28 price tag. Personally, I think marketing this as a highlighter is misleading because that’s simply not how it performs. I could see myself using it for a concert or festival, but not as an everyday highlighter. It feels less like a highlighter and more like a pot of glitter.
The glitter particles are quite chunky and have a blue shift that gives the skin a dewy look. Unfortunately, they transfer everywhere, even once the product has dried, so they don’t stay put. I was also surprised by how tiny the packaging is. It genuinely feels more like a GWP than something you’d actually buy. On top of that, the packaging looks very basic and doesn’t match the rest of the range, which has a much more distinctive design. Overall, I just don’t think it feels worth the price when you can find similar body glitters for much less.

Marc Jacobs Drawn This Way Longwear Eyeliner
The Marc Jacobs Drawn This Way Longwear Eyeliner is a high-impact, long-lasting waterproof gel eyeliner with intense pigment, available in two finishes: matte and metallic. Honestly, I really enjoyed using these eyeliners. The formula is creamy, the colour payoff is excellent, and they wear incredibly well.
I picked up three shades: Delulu, So Tea, and You Wish.
- 290 Delulu is a lilac duochrome that’s perfect for going out. It looks beautiful, lasts well, and doesn’t smudge much. This shade has a purplish shift that adds a touch of sparkle and glam to my eyes, making them look brighter and more vibrant. It stays put on the waterline and adds a beautiful sparkle to the lids and inner corners.
- 300 So Tea is a lovely bronze duochrome with a very creamy formula that glides on smoothly and stays in place for hours.
- 160 You Wish is a gorgeous matte chocolate brown shade. It glides on smoothly and lasts all day without smudging too much. Compared with the old Marc Jacobs Fineliners, this new formula works better for a soft, smudged look rather than crisp, precise lines.
