Reading the comments CI grays to those who manage to buy in the end, to those who thought they bought it but cancelled sorry, same, I was like that on first launch…tho not saying sold out and queue been paused message since 9:58 and its past midday! I too feel can’t be bothered 😕 I think it is a messy launch but as it’s their first maybe they didn’t anticipate such interest…Harrods got competition next year 😅 I bet tgis will be trending next year with others like Harvey, Liberty, Fortnum, etc…it already started this year with John Lewis and Boots, last year LF unfortunately I’m a sucker for perfumes 😜

Just phoned up, although queue says paused it IS out of stock as said by the comments even in stores. I didn’t get notifications even though signed up and apparently will be restocked again even though they don’t know when – you know the usual 😕

You’d hope that those of us whose orders were taken but then cancelled/not processed would be prioritised if it gets restocked.

It’s back in stock and the queue has re-opened… But I don’t understand how people are buying?! I’m on the checkout page, every time I click credit card it just shows a Barclays error, every time I try to pay with PayPal, it gives me a Barclays error after paying on PayPal, even Klarna is giving a payment error… Tried so many times now..

Too many trying to buy. They should stop everything and fix their IT issues, they are just wasting everybody’s time, theirs included.

I was on the same boat. I had that issue both at 9:34am and 1:36pm. Tried everything including Klarna the second time, nothing worked. I will email customer support but doubt they’ll care. I was on the chat with customer service an hour ago and they were saying there will be another drop, however, unlike before, the website is not stating that more stock will come soon, so I’m not sure. Feeling so low about all this. Meanwhile lots of them going on eBay. It’s beyond unfair.

I am so fed up with Selfridges I have just ordered the Harvey Nicks fragrance calendar instead, the value saving is no where near Selfridges but looking at the contents I think I will prefer the more woody slant in HN calendar.

An awful process this was. I don’t even want them to try again next year. They are not cut out for this, the process was abysmal and their customer service is even worse. They clearly have a lot of learning to do, they shouldn’t participate in the game without the expertise to carry it out. Even Harvey Nichols with their challenges managed to do better. Selfridges should focus on making themselves and the customer service decent before reentering the advent calendar would again.

Harrods as usual reigns supreme.

I really do not understand Selfridge’s priorities, here.

They managed to close the wishlist loophole, no problem, but cannot prevent scalpers and bots making multiple/bulk orders?
