OUAI Scalp & Body Scrub Review
Today’s review is all about the OUAI Scalp & Body Scrub, a luxurious product I thoroughly enjoy using. This scrub not only does its job well but also has a scent that I’m absolutely obsessed with. Let’s take a closer look at what makes it so special.
The formula features sugar crystals to exfoliate the scalp and body. It includes a blend of surfactants, emulsifiers, and conditioning agents, such as glycerin, sweet almond oil, coconut oil, panthenol, hydrolyzed hibiscus extract, aloe juice, and menthyl lactate. Additionally, the blend of willow herb extract, panthenol, and probiotics works to soothe the skin and promote a healthy microbiome, while celery extract helps combat free radical damage.
OUAI Scalp & Body Scrub features the brand’s signature Melrose Place scent, which smells divine. This sweet blend of rose, bergamot, lychee, cedar wood, and white musk definitely elevates the shower experience. The smell is quite strong but never overpowering, and I simply can’t get enough of it. After each use, this scrub leaves me and my bathroom smelling incredible.
The Ouai scrub is a dual-purpose product designed for use on both the scalp and the body. For the scalp, section wet hair to reveal the scalp, then apply a quarter-sized amount and massage in circular motions to activate the lather. Rinse thoroughly and follow with conditioner/mask. For the body, apply to damp skin and rub in circular motions to gently exfoliate. Rinse your skin.
Because the scrub doesn’t foam loads, I don’t feel completely clean afterwards. So, I also like to mix in a bit of shampoo for extra foaming.
The OUAI Scalp & Body Scrub has a gritty, thick texture. Because the scrub is quite viscous, I separate my hair into several sections, applying small amounts to each area while massaging it in. It’s excellent for intense exfoliation, and I have no trouble rinsing it out of my hair. The exfoliating sugar crystals effectively remove dead skin and product buildup from my scalp, making a noticeable difference. After using this product, my scalp feels fresher and cleaner, and it also boosts volume at the roots.
My only issue is that the product doesn’t lather well and feels less cleansing than I’d like. I mentioned earlier that mixing it with my shampoo improves the experience.
I love that the OUAI Scalp & Body Scrub is multi-purpose. As a body scrub, it excels—gentle enough to avoid being abrasive yet effective enough to leave my skin polished, smooth, and soft. This scrub doesn’t leave any residue on my skin. While I can’t say it lasts long, it’s definitely a treat. It feels wonderful, and the scent lingers on the skin for a few hours.
And one more great thing about this scrub is that it dissolves without leaving any residue in the shower.
I love OUAI products because they are always pleasant to use and smell incredible. The OUAI Scalp & Body Scrub is no exception. Although it is a pricey scrub, I find it worth the investment to treat myself every now and then.
