In this review, I’m sharing my thoughts on a few Then I Met You products: the Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel, the Essence Light Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++, and the Bong 2 Bounce Cream.
Then I Met You Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel
The Then I Met You Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel is a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser that helps clarify and calm the skin while leaving it soft and refreshed. The texture of the cleanser is quite unique. It comes out as a thick, slime-like gel that feels bouncy and stretchy. Once water is added, it lathers up and glides easily over the skin. As for the scent, it’s noticeable and a bit odd, with earthy, herbal notes. Some people may find it off-putting, but fortunately, it doesn’t linger after rinsing.
As a big fan of gel cleansers, I was keen to try this one. It makes the perfect second step in my double cleanse, and my combination skin absolutely loves it. After cleansing, my skin feels soft, clean, and balanced without being stripped or dried out. However, those with dry skin may prefer a more hydrating option.
The formula contains a blend of mild surfactants to cleanse the skin without stripping it. Rice Ferment Filtrate, glycerin, sorbitol, diglycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, maltitol, and rice bran oil help minimise dryness after cleansing.
Additionally, a blend of licorice root extract, Centella asiatica extract, green tea extract, and panthenol helps soothe and calm the skin, while PHA (gluconolactone) gently exfoliates. Green tea extract, cocoa extract, licorice root extract, centella asiatica extract, rice ferment filtrate, and rice bran oil also provide antioxidant protection.

Then I Met You Essence Light Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++
The Then I Met You Essence Light Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++ has a thick, creamy texture that spreads smoothly and feels surprisingly lightweight on the skin. It sinks in beautifully, leaving zero white cast and works well under makeup. The finish is glowy and healthy-looking without being overly shiny.
I have combination skin that’s prone to breakouts in warmer weather and around my period. This sunscreen didn’t cause me any breakouts or irritation, although it does sting my eyes when I’m sweating. While I enjoy how comfortable and hydrating it feels on the skin, I find it a bit too much for my combination skin during the summer months. I think it’s a great option for normal to dry skin year-round. However, if you have combination or oily skin, you may find it a little too hydrating, especially during warmer weather.
The formula contains avobenzone (which protects against UVA rays), homosalate (which protects against UVB rays), octisalate (which protects against UVB rays), and octocrylene (which protects against UVB rays and some UVA II rays while helping to stabilise avobenzone). It also contains butyloctyl salicylate (which can help boost the SPF performance of sunscreens) and ethylhexyl methoxycrylene (which enhances photostability and helps improve UV protection).
Additionally, a blend of humectants, including glycerin, panthenol, saccharomyces ferment filtrate, and a multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid complex, helps hydrate and soften the skin. Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (GFF) helps improve skin radiance and may help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and excess sebum. A blend of saccharomyces ferment filtrate, panthenol, and ceramides helps support the skin barrier and reduce moisture loss. Additionally, panax ginseng root extract, galactomyces ferment filtrate, and saccharomyces ferment filtrate provide antioxidant protection.

Then I Met You Bong² Bounce™ Cream
The Then I Met You Bong² Bounce™ Cream is a lightweight gel-cream moisturiser designed to brighten the skin, boost elasticity, and strengthen the skin barrier. The Then I Met You Bong 2 Bounce Cream has a lovely gel-like texture. It feels very lightweight and absorbs well, leaving no greasy residue. I find it a bit sticky right after application, but it only lasts for a few minutes. My skin feels hydrated, soft, plump, and bouncy after using it, and I find it gives my complexion a fresher, more radiant look. It also works beautifully under makeup without pilling.
I find this cream perfect for warmer weather. It hydrates my skin nicely without feeling heavy or greasy. However, those with very dry skin may find that it isn’t enough on its own.
The formula contains a blend of humectants, including glycerin, hydroxyethyl urea, a multi-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid complex, honey extract, hydrolysed collagen, beta-glucan, fructan, and glucose, to help maintain skin hydration. Additionally, a blend of emollients, including squalane, sea buckthorn fruit oil, and fatty acids (linoleic acid, oleic acid, and linolenic acid), helps soften the skin and reduce moisture loss. A blend of ceramide NP, hydrogenated lecithin, beta-glucan, and fatty acids (linoleic acid, oleic acid, and linolenic acid) also helps support and strengthen the skin barrier.
A blend of hydrolysed gardenia florida extract, hydrolysed viola tricolor extract, sea buckthorn fruit oil, sea buckthorn fruit extract, sophora japonica fruit extract, diospyros kaki fruit extract, buckwheat seed extract, tangerine fruit extract, citrus unshiu peel extract, citrus junos peel extract, and vitamin E provides antioxidant protection. Additionally, hydrolysed viola tricolor extract, honey extract, bisabolol, allantoin, and beta-glucan help soothe the skin and reduce irritation.
