PSA Skin Heroine Mandelic & Licorice Superfood Glow Toner
Today we’re talking about my favourite multi-acid toner from PSA SKIN Heroine Mandelic & Licorice Superfood Glow Toner. This toner formulated to exfoliate the skin, reduce of imperfections appearance, refine appearance of pores and reduce redness.
The toner PSA Skin Heroine Mandelic & Licorice Superfood Glow Toner contains:
- 6% Mandelic & Lactic Acid (AHA) gently exfoliates the skin. The molecules of both acids are large in size (larger than glycolic acid), so this way they can act more gently without causing irritation,
- 2% Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) brightens the skin, has an anti-inflammatory effect, strengthens the skin barrier, helps to moisturise the skin,
- A blend of Antioxidants (Centella Asiatica Extract, Pomegranate Extract, Blueberry Extract, Green Tea Extract, Fermented Black Tea Extract, Vitamin E and also Hyaluronic Acid) protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals,
- A mix of Allantoin, Hyaluronic Acid, Fermented Black Tea and Panthenol softens and moisturises the skin;
- Fermented Black Tea (Kombucha) strengthens skin barrier, hydrates the skin,
- A blend of Centella Asiatica Extract, Licorice Extract, Allantoin, Panthenol and Bisabolol has an anti-inflammatory effect, soothes the skin,
- In addition, a mix of structural ingredients, solvents, stabilizers, preservatives (the formula doesn’t contain fragrances or essential oils).
To my mind, PSA Skin Heroine Mandelic & Licorice Superfood Glow Toner is very comfortable to use. It has a more water-light texture (its’t viscous and doesn’t have thicker consistency). This toner absorbs quickly enough and doesn’t leave any sense of stickiness or oiliness on the skin.
The only thing that may cause discomfort – is the smell of the toner. Because the toner doesn’t contain any fragrances, it has a slight unpleasant odour of lactic acid (to my mind the smell is not intense). I have thin combination skin with an oily T-zone and glycolic acid sometimes works too harsh for me. So I’m a big fan of Lactic Acid, especially for daily usage.
Please keep in mind that, PSA Skin Heroine Mandelic & Licorice Superfood Glow Toner – it’s a mild daily toner (an alternative to such toners as January Labs Daily Brightening Tonic or Pixi Glow Tonic). In other words, you shouldn’t expect a quick strong effect from such toners. They act more gently and progressively, not like peels with high concentrations of acids.
PSA Skin Heroine Mandelic & Licorice Superfood Glow Toner really works very gently on my skin – doesn’t cause any redness, irritation or dryness. But at the same time the toner does its job perfectly, gently exfoliates the skin, boosts the glow, improves complexion, it reduces breakouts and treats blemish scars, makes the skin smoother, while also hydrating the skin. My skin just definitely looks and feels better when I’m using this toner.
Finally, I would like to give you a couple of standard tips. First of all, don’t forget to use SPF as the final step in your AM routine, and limit sun exposure for a week when using AHA in your routine. And secondly, if you are new to acids, start with a couple of times a week (but personally I can use this toner every other day).
