Marc Jacobs Beauty Makeup Review September 2026
Today I’m sharing a few new additions to my Marc Jacobs Beauty collection: the Panoramic Volume Mascara and the Heart On Shine Lipstick, along with new-to-me shades of the Born Star Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow and the Joystick Blush Stick. I also wanted to come back to the packaging. A lot of people seem to have been put off by the change, saying the new design looks childish and doesn’t really match the price point. I actually think the opposite. Marc Jacobs has always done things a little differently, so even though the packaging looks nothing like the old line, it still feels very on brand. I actually love having these products out on my vanity. They really stand out from the rest of my makeup and feel nice to hold too.
Marc Jacobs Panoramic Volume Mascara in Cocoa
Marc Jacobs Panoramic Volume Mascara – a lash-defining mascara in a chocolate brown shade that adds volume and length, with up to 18 hours of smudge-proof, flake-free wear. It comes with an hourglass-shaped brush that coats each lash from root to tip.
This is genuinely a great mascara that gives me both length and volume with just one coat. The formula is on the wetter side. It separates my lashes really well and gives them plenty of length without looking heavy or clumpy. I can see it making my lashes stick together if I apply too many coats, though. The finish looks very natural, making it perfect for everyday wear or no-makeup makeup days. It lasts really well throughout the day without smudging or flaking and never irritates my eyes.

Marc Jacobs Born Star Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow in 150 Spicy
Marc Jacobs Born Star Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow – a metallic eyeshadow in Spicy, a copper shade. I really like the star-shaped compact, which looks like a mini Mylar balloon. The cream-to-powder formula has a soft, buttery texture that’s easy to apply with either your finger or a brush. It blends like a dream and wears really well throughout the day without creasing. The colour stays true all day, and there’s absolutely zero fallout.
The Spicy shade has a very fine shimmer and gives my lids a pretty sheen without looking too heavy. However, I feel like this shade doesn’t really complement my pale skin tone.

Marc Jacobs Heart On Shine Lipstick in 107 Mutuals Only
Marc Jacobs Heart On Shine Lipstick – a balmy, moisturising lipstick in 107 Mutuals Only, a deep warm brown shade. Honestly, I expected the mascara and blush to be my favourites, but I didn’t expect to become so obsessed with the lipstick. I didn’t even order one at the initial launch, and now I definitely regret it. Heart On Shine Lipstick sits somewhere between a traditional lipstick and a nourishing balm. It feels balmy and nourishing, glides on easily, and looks smooth on the lips. It’s nicely pigmented and looks beautiful on.
The heart-shaped packaging is incredibly cute, but I have to say that the cap comes off quite easily. So, if you carry it in your bag, there’s a good chance the lipstick will get damaged.

Marc Jacobs Joystick Blush Stick in 310 Cherry Tease
Marc Jacobs Joystick Blush Stick – a multi-use lip and cheek balm in 310 Cherry Tease, a deep blue-red shade. I’ve been wanting to try a red blush for a while, but I was worried it might not suit my skin tone. The shade looks a little intimidating at first because it’s such a deep red, but it blends out beautifully and can be applied quite subtly. A few dabs are all you need, although the colour is easy to build up if you want more intensity. I find the best way to apply it is to put a little on the back of my hand first, then stipple it onto my cheeks with a brush. I also really like how it looks on the lips.
I find the packaging of this one absolutely adorable! The blush itself is very pigmented and has a creamy formula that feels surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to wear, never heavy or greasy. It glides on smoothly and blends easily with your fingertips or a brush, leaving a fresh, natural-looking finish. Like most cream blushes I’ve tried, it starts to fade after a few hours on my combination skin, especially if I don’t set it. Layering it with powder or setting spray helps prolong its wear.
