Lookfantastic Advent Calendar 2023 Review

Lookfantastic Advent Calendar 2023 Review

For today’s review, I want to talk about the beautiful Lookfantastic Advent Calendar 2023. This year’s calendar offers 27 skincare, haircare, and makeup products valued at over £565, marking the highest value in Lookfantastic’s calendar history. I love Lookfantastic’s advent calendars because they usually offer affordable prices for a great selection of products, and this year is no exception. So, let’s take a closer look at what’s inside.

Elemis Pro-collagen Marine Moisture Essence

Elemis Pro-collagen Marine Moisture Essence (28ml worth £23) – a hydrating essence that is clinically proven to double skin’s moisture content whilst smoothing the look of fine lines for a youthful glow. Enriched with a nourishing blend of padina pavonica and sea spring water, hyaluronic acid, collagen amino acids, and microalgae extract. It’s lightweight, absorbs well, and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling, leaving the skin feeling moisturised.

Espa Positivity Bath And Shower Gel

Espa Positivity Bath And Shower Gel (100ml worth £10) – a shower gel enriched with a mix of essential oils. It has a wonderful scent of bergamot, sweet orange, jasmine, gardenia, and rose geranium. I love this scent, it’s really uplifting and brings a sense of positivity.

Dr PawPaw Plumping Lip Oil

Dr PawPaw Plumping Lip Oil (8ml Full Size worth £4.95) – a plumping and hydrating lip oil infused with apricot oil, olive oil, almond oil, sunflower wax, castor oil, papaya extract, aloe extract, and vegetable collagen.

Nars Orgasm Blush

Nars Orgasm Blush (1.2g worth £6.88) – a peachy pink blush with shimmer. It’s another “orgasm” in my collection of Orgasm blushes. I receive it pretty often in different beauty boxes, so I’m a bit tired of it. However, it’s a lovely summer blush.

Nars Orgasm Blush

Disciple Shadow Work Aha Brightening Serum

Disciple Shadow Work Aha Brightening Serum (30ml Full Size worth £30) – an ultra resurfacing serum packed with AHA and BHA to remove dead skin, brighten dark areas of pigmentation and deeply exfoliate inside pores to prevent breakouts and reveal fresh, bright skin. While my skin has had mixed experiences with glycolic acid, I’m curious to give this new product a shot.

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (25ml worth £10) – a fast-absorbing body cream with a smoothing formula that adds a hint of shimmer to the skin. This is definitely isn’t the most nourishing body cream I’ve used, but it’s a nice body cream. And honestly, I’m not a big fan of its scent.

LOOKFANTASTIC 4-piece Makeup Brush Set and Velvet Pouch

LOOKFANTASTIC 4-piece Makeup Brush Set and Velvet Pouch (worth £14.99) – a 4-piece set of bespoke brushes, including three eye brushes and one powder brush to use for blush or bronzer.

Eyeko Black Magic Liquid Liner

Eyeko Black Magic Liquid Liner (0.3ml worth £9) – a liquid eyeliner. The eyeliner’s brush is ideal for achieving a range of looks, from a sharp, fine line to a bold, thick cat eye. Its staying power is truly amazing.

Medik8 Surface Radiance Cleanse

In the next window, we have two products:

  • Medik8 Surface Radiance Cleanse (40ml worth £9) – a foaming cleansing gel featuring an exfoliating blend of AHAs and BHAs; mandelic, lactic and salicylic acid. This one I’m actually very happy to receive. It’s not harsh, cleans the skin well without leaving any dryness and smells nice.
  • Medik 8 C-tetra Serum (8ml worth £14) – a vitamin C serum to restore radiance and combat visible signs of aging, providing antioxidant protection with minimal irritation. The serum is infused with jojoba oil and works to boosts the skin’s radiance, promoting a visible healthy glow. C-Tetra has a water-free formula, making it more stable, which means that vitamin C does not degrade over time.

Origins Mega Mushroom Treatment

Origins Mega Mushroom Treatment (200ml Full Size worth £38) – a soothing lotion formulated to help hydrate, protect and even the skin tone. The formula is enriched with algae extract, yeast ferment extract, chaga mushroom, reishi extract, sea buckthorn extract, probiotics, hyaluronic acid, caffeine, and dipotassium glycyrrhizate. I like this product. This lotion has a unique texture, similar to a toner or a watery serum, and it soaks into my skin effortlessly. I also enjoy its pleasant tree-like scent, and it provides effective hydration, making it a great base for my makeup.

Color Wow Color Security Shampoo 30ml And Conditioner

In the next window, we have two products:

  • Color Wow Color Security Shampoo (30ml worth £5) – a sulfate-free shampoo for all hair types. I’ve had the full size of it before, and I can say it’s a great shampoo for my coloured hair. It leaves my hair clean and shiny and doesn’t irritate my scalp.
  • Color Wow Color Security Conditioner (30ml worth £5) – a hair conditioner for fine to normal hair. Same here, I’ve purchased the full-size of it before, along with the shampoo. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, and easy to detangle, and it washes out easily. The scent is very nice. Overall, I’m happy to get both of these hair products.

Nudestix Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm in Posh

Nudestix Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm in Posh (2.5g worth £17.86) – a multitasking, ultra-moisturising balm with rich colour and glossy shine. I love the colour, haven’t used it on my cheeks, so I don’t know how it performs on the skin, but on the lips, it looks pretty nice and fresh. The texture is creamy, and it provides great coverage.

Isoclean Cosmetic Sponge Cleaner

Isoclean Cosmetic Sponge Cleaner (110ml worth £8) – a sponge cleaner that eliminates harmful bacteria, dirt, and stubborn makeup stains. The formula helps to keep sponges cleaner and performing longer.

Grande Cosmetics Grandelash-md Lash Enhancing Serum

Grande Cosmetics Grandelash-md Lash Enhancing Serum (2ml Full Size worth £62.00) – a lash enhancing serum proven to promote the appearance of longer thicker healthier looking lashes. The formula is enriched with panthenol, amino acids, isopropyl cloprostenate (a synthetic prostaglandin analog), isopropyl cloprostenate (a synthetic prostaglandin analog), honey extract, hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans, hydrolyzed yeast extract, hyaluronic acid, sodium lactate, grape extract, coltsfoot extract, ginseng extract, bearberry extract, chamomile extract, calcium gluconate. I’m intrigued to test this out, seeing the exceptional feedback it’s gotten.

Lookfantastic X Aery Winter Thyme Candle

Lookfantastic X Aery Winter Thyme Candle Deluxe Size (155g worth £25) – an exclusive Christmas-scented candle with warm notes of thyme, orange, cinnamon, and clove. It has a strong fragrance, but it smells lovely. I’m a big fan of scented candles, and this one is a great addition to my collection. I definitely like it.

BEAUTYPRO Retinol Eye patch

BEAUTYPRO Retinol Eye patch (x3 Full-size worth £4.95) – a pack of eye patches infused with sorbitol, allantoin, niacinamide, panthenol, coenzyme Q10, retinyl palmitate, ascorbyl palmitate. Tbh, I don’t see any long-lasting benefits from these, but they do make a lovely addition for special occasions, helping under-eye makeup apply more smoothly.

Mac Macstack Mascara Mega Brush (13ml Full Size worth £26) – an endlessly buildable, clump-resistant mascara that stacks on infinite layers of volume and length. This product effectively lengthens and adds volume to my lashes without clumping. The downside is a bit messy application process and the tendency for the product to transfer under my eyes. Consequently, I wouldn’t recommend it for bottom lashes if you’re set for a long day.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (worth £6.99) – a 3-in-1 makeup sponge for applying and blending powders, creams, and liquids. It’s lightweight, soft, and superb for seamless blending.

The formula is enriched with colloidal oatmeal, squalane, ceramides, feverfew extract, green extract, and licorice extract. I really enjoy this cream. It’s gentle, not at all sticky, and devoid of a strong scent. It hydrates without leaving my skin feeling greasy.

Avant Hyaluronic Acid Molecular Boost Eye Cream

Avant Hyaluronic Acid Molecular Boost Eye Cream (10ml Full Size worth £97) –  an anti-ageing eye cream formulated to nourish skin from within and combat a number of imperfections, from uneven tone to fine lines and dullness. Enriched with hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, amino acids.

Enriched with coconut extract, fig extract, argan oil, oequi oil, and hydrolyzed linseed seed. This hair mask is a game changer! After its use, my hair was notably soft and thoroughly nourished. The ease of detangling was a bonus. The formula, rich yet non-heavy, comes with a pleasant aroma.

Rituals Rituals Of Jing Body Scrub

Rituals Rituals Of Jing Body Scrub (125g worth £11.50) – a luxurious body scrub divinely scented with lotus flower and jujube fruit. I find this body scrub delightful. It has an indulgent, relaxing fragrance and leaves the skin smooth and moisturised.

Eve Lom Rescue Mask

Eve Lom Rescue Mask (50ml worth £40) – a honey-infused kaolin clay mask that provides a deep cleanse for your skin. I’ve used this mask before and truly loved it. It effectively purifies the skin and deeply cleanses the pores. It’s a great clay mask, and I’m happy to receive it.

Iconic London Day To Slay Palette

Iconic London Day To Slay Palette (Full Size worth £45) – an eyeshadow palette with 20 highly pigmented matte, shimmering, and glittering shades. I was pleasantly surprised by this palette since it offers a really nice selection of nude shades with different undertones. To be honest, I didn’t expect much at the beginning, but in the end, I found myself using it all week long. Like it!
