VT Cosmetics Cica Essence Sun Pact SPF50 Review

VT Cosmetics Cica Essence Sun Pact SPF50 Review

Today, I’d like to discuss the VT Cosmetics Cica Essence Sun Pact SPF50, a Korean sunscreen cushion designed for on-the-go reapplication. I’ve tried it out, and here’s how it worked for me.

VT Cosmetics Cica Essence Sun Pact SPF50

The formula contains ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (also known as octinoxate, which helps protect the skin against UVB rays), ethylhexyl salicylate (also known as octisalate, which protects against UVB rays), diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (also known as Uvinul A Plus, which protects the skin against UVA rays), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (also known as Tinosorb S, which covers the entire UVB and UVA range), titanium dioxide (which mainly protects the skin from UVA II rays), and zinc oxide (which protects against UVB, UVA II, and UVA I).

It also contains a blend of vitamin C (sodium ascorbyl phosphate), asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassoside, madecassic acid, centella Asiatica extract, laminaria Japonica extract, propolis extract, and sweet wormwood extract to provide antioxidant protection. Additionally, a blend of centella Asiatica extract, adenosine, bisabolol, asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassoside, madecassic acid, mountain yam extract, propolis extract, and aloe leaf juice helps to soothe the skin. Glycerin, hyaluronic acid, laminaria Japonica extract, mountain yam extract, sweet wormwood extract, collagen extract, and aloe leaf juice hydrate the skin. A blend of peptides (tripeptide-3, acetyl hexapeptide-8, acetyl octapeptide-3, copper tripeptide-1, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, palmitoyl tripeptide-7, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, tripeptide-1, tripeptide-2) helps repair the skin, improve elasticity, smooth the skin, and reduce signs of sun damage, helping the skin look and feel younger.

The VT Cosmetics Cica Essence Sun Pact SPF50 comes in a cushion compact with an inner lid that separates the sponge from the sunscreen. It has a white solid cream texture with a pretty green and blue swirl pattern. According to the brand, the green essence contains a phyto-calming complex to soothe the skin, and the blue essence includes a peptide complex and collagen for firming. It also has a specific scent of medicinal herbs that fades away quickly.

VT Essence Sun Pact SPF50 feels very comfortable on the skin and doesn’t leave my combination skin feeling greasy or oily at all. It also gives a nice cooling sensation after application. It has a natural matte finish, without being overly matte. It doesn’t irritate my skin, cause breakouts, or sting my eyes. However, it leaves a little bit of white cast.

I believe sunscreen cushions shouldn’t be used as a primary layer of SPF protection. They’re better suited for reapplication due to their format, but they don’t work well as your only line of defence. Due to their texture, they often provide less coverage and lead to missed spots on the face. So, I prefer to begin with a good layer of regular sunscreen and then use a cushion to maintain protection throughout the day. Speaking of the VT Cica Essence Sun Pact, it doesn’t feel too heavy when layered and never pills, but it leaves my face looking white as a ghost. Therefore, I just can’t use it as my main sunscreen without makeup.

VT Cosmetics Cica Essence Sun Pact SPF 50

Overall, I didn’t become a fan of the VT Cosmetics Cica Essence Sun Pact SPF50 and wouldn’t repurchase it. Especially with so many other options on the market that work better for me.
