Umberto Giannini Scalp Restore Exfoliating Scalp Scrub Review
Today, I’m reviewing the Umberto Giannini Scalp Restore Exfoliating Scalp Scrub, designed to remove dead skin cells and excess oil, helping to prevent flakes and restore a clear, healthy scalp.
The formula contains walnut shell powder, coconut shell powder, and pineapple enzymes to gently exfoliate the scalp. Additionally, a blend of emollients and humectants, including coconut oil and glycerin, helps prevent the scalp and hair from feeling dry. A postbiotic (lactobacillus ferment) supports the skin microbiome, while piroctone olamine, an antifungal and antimicrobial ingredient, helps treat dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis, promotes healthier hair, and reduces oil and inflammation.
The Umberto Giannini Scalp Restore Exfoliating Scalp Scrub has a thick, creamy texture with lots of crushed walnut and coconut shell particles. I have fine, thin hair, and even with my hair type, I found these particles quite difficult to rinse out without spending extra time in the shower. So if your hair is thick or curly, I wouldn’t recommend this scrub, as it can be even harder to wash out completely.
The good thing about the Umberto Giannini Scalp Restore Exfoliating Scalp Scrub is its tropical scent. It smells absolutely amazing, like a piña colada or a pineapple smoothie.
My scalp feels clean after using it, but not quite as clean as with other scalp scrubs I’ve tried, let alone scalp shampoos. That said, it does help soothe my itchy scalp and leaves my hair feeling soft.
Unfortunately, I didn’t become a fan of the Umberto Giannini Scalp Restore Exfoliating Scalp Scrub, and I won’t repurchase it.
