Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm Review
This review is about the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm. This sorbet-soft oil cleanser melts away oil-based impurities such as makeup and sunscreen while nourishing the skin. I received this as part of a Cult Beauty Box and here my thoughts.
The formula features olive oil, grape seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, babassu oil, emollients, and waxes to soften, nourish the skin, and protect the skin barrier while gently removing impurities. Additionally, it includes persimmon extract for antioxidant benefits.
The TIMY Cleansing Balm has a thick, oily texture and a vibrant orange colour resembling mango sherbet. This colour comes naturally from sea buckthorn oil in the formula. When applied to the skin, it melts into a luxuriously rich oil. I find that it takes more time and water to emulsify due to its thicker and oilier texture. However, the product washes off easily without leaving an oily residue.
Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm has a lovely, uplifting citrus scent that isn’t overpowering.
Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm is intended for a double cleansing regimen, where you first apply an oil-based product followed by a water-based cleanser. It leaves my skin soft, hydrated, and refreshed without drying it out. Additionally, it’s gentle around my eyes and didn’t cause any stinging.
In terms of effectiveness, I’ve found that it doesn’t remove makeup as well as other cleansers. It doesn’t take off my mascara, and I don’t use waterproof mascara. Additionally, it doesn’t remove all my waterproof eyeliner and full-coverage foundation. However, since my everyday makeup is very light, it works well enough for that purpose. Nonetheless, I still need to use an eye makeup remover afterward to remove my mascara.
To summarise, I found the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm to be a good product. Unfortunately, it didn’t become my favourite since there are other alternatives on the market that do their job better.
