Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Rio Deodorant Review
In this review, I want to share my thoughts on the Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Rio Deodorant. I picked this one because it’s infused with the Cheirosa 48 fragrance, which is one of my favourite scents from the brand. That said, let me share how it has been working for me.
The formula contains a blend of coconut oil, mango seed butter, bacuri oil, sunflower seed oil, and papaya seed oil to soften, condition, and moisturise. It also contains tapioca starch (extracted from the cassava plant) and magnesium hydroxide to absorb excess moisture and neutralise the odour-causing bacteria, while papaya enzyme gently exfoliates to remove dead skin cells and fight ingrown hairs. A blend of blueberry extract, lemon extract, orange extract, and sugar maple extract provides antioxidant benefits.
The Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Rio Deodorant has a lovely creamy texture that glides on smoothly. It feels very comfortable on the skin, neither too greasy and sticky nor too dry and chalky.
You can’t talk about SDJ without mentioning their fragrances. The Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Rio Deodorant is infused with the sweet floral Cheirosa 68 fragrance, which features notes of jasmine, pink dragonfruit, lychee, vanilla, and a hint of musk. It’s my top favourite scent from the brand, and I just can’t get enough of it. That’s why I was happy to see they released the deodorant with this scent. It smells subtler than the other products in the Beija Flor collection, but pairing it with the cream or mist helps the fragrance last longer.
I’ve recently developed a rash in my armpits, so finding a deodorant that doesn’t irritate the hell out of my skin has been a struggle. My armpit skin can’t tolerate sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), so I try to use deodorants without it. Some deodorants even break me out. But the SDJ deodorants are the best natural deodorants I’ve ever tried. They work really well for everyday use. I use them regularly on non-workout days, and I don’t feel sweaty while wearing them. SDJ deodorants are also less wet than other roll-on deodorants I’ve tried. While I’m not a heavy sweater, they last for 5-10 hours depending on my activity level.
The Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Rio Deodorant doesn’t leave yellow marks on my clothes. If you apply a thick layer, it can leave a white residue, but a normal amount doesn’t cause any issues for me.
I’ve tried most of SDJ’s deodorants, except for the purple one, which I will definitely be repurchasing to try. I genuinely enjoy using all of them, but the Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Rio Deodorant has become a favourite, especially since I’ve been a long-time fan of the Cheirosa 68 fragrance.
