Ole Henriksen B5 Boost Hydrating Solid Foaming Gentle Cleanser Review

Ole Henriksen B5 Boost Hydrating Solid Foaming Gentle Cleanser Review

Here’s my quick review of the Ole Henriksen B5 Boost Hydrating Solid Foaming Gentle Cleanser, a new balm-to-foam facial cleanser that removes makeup while supporting the skin’s moisture barrier. Let’s take a closer look and see how it actually performs.

Ole Henriksen B5 Boost Hydrating Solid Foaming Gentle Cleanser

The formula contains a blend of mild surfactants to gently cleanse the skin and remove sebum and impurities without stripping the skin. Additionally, a blend of humectants and emollients, including glycerin, panthenol, fructose, glucose, blackcurrant seed oil, elderberry seed oil, and lingonberry seed oil, helps condition and soften the skin while preventing dryness.

Also, a blend of sambucus nigra fruit juice, blackcurrant seed oil, elderberry seed oil, lingonberry seed oil, chlorella vulgaris extract, soybean seed extract, and vitamin E provides antioxidant protection. Fructooligosaccharides help support the skin microbiome, while a blend of panthenol, cynanchum atratum extract, and althaea rosea flower extract helps soothe the skin.

Ole Henriksen Solid Foaming Gentle Cleanser Review

The Ole Henriksen B5 Boost Hydrating Solid Foaming Gentle Cleanser has a solid texture that you need to scoop out with a spatula and whip into a lather in your hands. A little goes a long way, as it foams up very well. It has quite a strong scent, which I find really off-putting. It smells medicinal and slightly fishy.

The balm goes on really smoothly and rubs in nicely. However, it says not to use it around the eyes, so I have to use a different product to take off my eye makeup. That’s probably for the best, as it really burns if it accidentally gets into my sensitive eyes. While the balm removes most makeup well, I need to put in a bit more effort to remove red lipstick and some darker blushes, so I find it works best as a second cleanse. I also find it a little drying.

Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of the Ole Henriksen B5 Boost Hydrating Solid Foaming Gentle Cleanser. With so many other options out there, I won’t be repurchasing it.
