Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo Review
This time, I’m sharing my review of the Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, designed to repair broken bonds for healthier-looking hair. It has been my go-to shampoo for the past 7 years, and I’ve repurchased it over 10 times, which is pretty rare for me.
The formula contains bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, Olaplex’s patented ingredient, a single molecule that helps repair broken bonds and restore healthier-looking hair. It also contains a gentle blend of cleansing agents that cleanse without stripping the hair or scalp. Additionally, silicones and polymers help reduce frizz and static and improve manageability, while a blend of glycerin, hyaluronic acid, panthenol, sunflower oil, apricot kernel oil, and fermented argan and camellia oils helps condition and soften the hair. Hydrolysed vegetable protein PG-propyl silanetriol helps strengthen the hair and improve elasticity, while açaí extract, pomegranate extract, banana extract, burdock root extract, noni extract, and rosemary extract provide antioxidant protection and help soothe the scalp.
I use a small, coin-sized amount and emulsify it in my hands. Then I apply it to wet hair and gently massage it into my scalp and through the lengths. It lathers well, and a single wash is enough to leave my hair feeling clean. The Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo has the signature soft, salon-clean scent, with citrusy notes that feel refreshing.
I can’t say that the Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo heals my fine, thin, colour-treated hair, but it definitely makes it feel much softer, smoother, and more manageable. I also love that it doesn’t weigh my hair down and works really well for colour-treated hair.
Olaplex also offers another version of this shampoo called the Olaplex No.4 Fine Bond Maintenance Shampoo. According to their website, this formula is specifically designed for fine hair, providing volume and hydration without weighing it down, while the original formula is still suitable for all hair types. Personally, I haven’t noticed much difference between the two and usually just go for whichever one is on a better discount.
All in all, the Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo is a great product. I can highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely keep repurchasing it again and again.
