Medik8 H.E.O Mask Review
In today’s post, I want to share my review of the Medik8 H.E.O Mask, a two-step overnight mask that helps hydrate, restore, and support the skin barrier. Let’s delve into my experience and see how it has worked for me.
The H.E.O. Mask Gel formula contains a blend of humectants, including glycerin, saccharide isomerate, urea, glyceryl glucoside, sodium PCA, and hyaluronic acid, to strongly attract and hold water in the skin, providing long-lasting hydration. Additionally, aloe vera juice soothes the skin, while hydrolysed Gardenia florida extract and sea kale leaf extract provide antioxidant protection.
The H.E.O. Mask Cream contains a blend of emollients and occlusives, including squalane, fatty acids, fatty alcohols, and dimethicone, to soften the skin and reduce water loss. Additionally, a blend of ceramide NP, hydrogenated lecithin, and linoleic acid strengthens and repairs the skin barrier, while acetyl glucosamine provides antioxidant protection.
I used the product twice a week as part of my nighttime routine. These two steps work really well together as long as you follow the instructions and massage the second step into the skin.
Step 1 has a lightweight blue gel texture. I applied a pea-sized amount to slightly damp skin and smoothed it over my face. It feels nice, slightly cooling, and sinks in quickly. Step 2 is a thick moisturising cream. I applied another pea-sized amount and gently massaged it into the skin for about a minute.
The Medik8 H.E.O Mask left my skin feeling softer and nicely moisturised. However, I’m not sure that the two-step mask works any better than a really good night cream. I didn’t notice any significant difference in my skin’s overall appearance. Some night creams and overnight masks I’ve tried definitely do a better job of leaving my skin plump, glowy, and healthy-looking.
Unfortunately, as much as I love the brand, the Medik8 H.E.O Mask won’t be a repurchase for me. It’s a nice product though, and I can see why some people enjoy it, but it just didn’t become a favourite of mine.
