Ma:nyo Lotus Primer-Free Sunscreen Review

Today, I’m bringing you a brief review of the Ma:nyo Lotus Primer-Free Sunscreen. Without further ado, let me share my experience with you.

Ma:nyo Lotus Primer-Free Sunscreen

The formula contains homosalate (which protects the skin against UVB rays), ethylhexyl salicylate (also known as octisalate, which protects against UVB rays), diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (also known as Uvinul A Plus, which protects the skin against UVA rays), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (also known as Tinosorb S, which provides full UVA and UVB coverage), and titanium dioxide (which mainly protects the skin from UVA II rays).

A blend of emollients and humectants including glycerin, tribehenin, polyglutamic acid, hyaluronic acid, erythritol, xylose, niacinamide, algae extract, and elm root extract helps hydrate and soften the skin. Additionally, a blend of vitamin E, niacinamide, tannic acid, apple fruit extract, eucommia bark extract, chestnut shell extract, persimmon leaf extract, lotus extract, brown algae extract, and yam root extract provides antioxidant protection. A blend of niacinamide, adenosine, aloe leaf juice, violet flower extract, and elm root extract also helps soothe the skin.

The Ma:nyo Lotus Primer Free Sunscreen has a creamy texture that takes time to settle and tends to sit on my combination skin rather than fully absorb. There’s a cooling, slightly tingling feeling when you apply it, which I personally don’t enjoy. Additionally, it has a slightly glowy finish, but not overly shiny.

My main issue with the Ma:nyo Lotus Primer-Free Sunscreen is the noticeable white cast, especially when I apply the recommended ½ teaspoon for proper SPF coverage. Although the white cast settles slightly over time, it never completely disappears, making it difficult for me to wear without makeup. Another downside is that it can pill when layered over certain skincare products, which puts me off using it.

Sadly, the Ma:nyo Lotus Primer-Free Sunscreen is a complete miss for me, and I won’t repurchase it again.
