LOoPHA Chalk Hand + Body Water Cream Review
Here’s my quick review of the LOoPHA Chalk Hand + Body Water Cream. It’s a lightweight hand and body lotion from LOoPHA, part of DECIEM, the company behind The Ordinary and NIOD.
The formula contains a blend of humectants, including 12% glycerin, saccharide isomerate, and lactic acid (which, at low concentrations, functions as a humectant), to help improve skin hydration. Additionally, a blend of emollients and occlusive ingredients, including shea butter and hydrolysed jojoba esters, helps soften the skin and reduce moisture loss.
Calcified red algae (amylopectin and lithothamnion calcareum extract) helps support the skin’s natural moisturising factors, strengthen the skin barrier, provide long-lasting hydration, and deliver antioxidant protection.
The LOoPHA Chalk Hand + Body Water Cream has a silky water-cream texture. It glides easily over the skin and absorbs quickly, leaving no sticky or greasy residue. It also has a clean, fresh scent with notes of crushed mint, fresh saffron, sugared anise and powdered musk, which I find pleasant and not overpowering.
This feels like a lovely body lotion for warmer weather. It provides instant hydration while still feeling lightweight and comfortable on the skin. That said, I don’t think it would be hydrating enough for winter, and I probably wouldn’t recommend it for dry or very dry skin.
