Isntree Onion Newpair Purple Tone Up Sun Cream Review
Here is my quick review of the Isntree Onion Newpair Purple Tone Up Sun Cream, another Korean sunscreen I’ve recently tested.

The formula contains a blend of titanium dioxide (which mainly protects the skin from UVA II rays), diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (Uvinul A Plus, which protects the skin against UVA rays), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (also known as Tinosorb S, which covers the entire UVA and UVB range), ethylhexyl triazone (also known as Uvinul T 150, which provides one of the highest levels of photostable absorption among UVB filters), terephthalylidene dicamphor sulfonic acid (also known as Mexoryl SX, which protects the skin against UVA rays), and polysilicone-15 (Parsol SLX, which helps protect the skin against UVB rays).
Additionally, a blend of allantoin, adenosine, panthenol, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, onion bulb extract, sphingomonas ferment extract, and green tea extract soothes the skin. A blend of emollients and humectants including panthenol, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and arginine/lysine polypeptide helps soften and hydrate the skin. A blend of niacinamide, ascorbyl glucoside, quercetin, ferulic acid, tocopherol, glutathione, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, green tea extract, sphingomonas ferment extract, and onion bulb extract also provides antioxidant protection.

The Isntree Onion Newpair Purple Tone Up Sun has a creamy texture. It doesn’t feel lightweight, but it isn’t heavy either. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy or oily. It sits well under makeup and doesn’t pill. On my combination skin, though, it does feel slightly sticky. Additionally, this sunscreen has little to no scent, and I didn’t experience any adverse reactions while using it.

The biggest downside for me is the strong white cast. It looks ghostly on the skin and never really settles or fades. Because of this, I can’t wear it without makeup, especially when I apply the recommended ½ teaspoon for proper SPF coverage. By that, I mean a medium-coverage foundation, since lightweight skin tints just don’t work here.

Unfortunately, the Isntree Onion Newpair Purple Tone Up Sun didn’t meet my expectations. I wouldn’t recommend it, and I don’t plan to repurchase it. In the photo above, you can see a few other sunscreens I picked up to test for spring and summer.
