Dear, Klairs All-day Airy Sunscreen Review
This time I’m going to review the Dear, Klairs All-day Airy Sunscreen, a moisturising sunscreen with SPF 50+ PA++++. This sunscreen claims to offer strong UV ray protection and a lightweight texture that does not leave any white cast or sticky residue on the skin. Is this product worth a shot? I’ll share my experience below.
Dear Klairs All-day Airy Sunscreen uses new generation filters: diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (also known as Uvinul A Plus, which protects the skin against UVA rays), polysilicone-15 (also known as Parsol SLX, which helps protect the skin against UVB rays), bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (also known as Tinosorb S, which covers the whole UVB and UVA range), and ethylhexyl triazone (also known as Uvinul T 150, which protects the skin against UVB rays).
This sunscreen has a lightweight, watery cream texture that spreads easily onto the skin and leaves no white cast. After the application, it gives the skin a shiny look on my combination skin. It doesn’t break me out or irritate my skin.
I find the Dear, Klairs All-day Airy Sunscreen to be very moisturising. In fact, it is too dewy for my skin, so I can even skip using my moisturiser before applying it. I think it may be better suited for those with dry or very dry skin, but for me, it’s too much. I’m not saying it’s a bad product, but it feels heavier on my skin than I prefer.
This sunscreen tends to pill if you handle it too much, or it can also pill upon reapplication. There’s also a tendency for it to pill when layered on top of some creams.
All in all, even though Dear, Klairs All-day Airy Sunscreen didn’t become my favorite sunscreen, I find it to be a nice product. Speaking about the sun protection factor, it’s worth noting that back in 2020, there were several sunscreen scandals when some brands, including Dear, Klairs, were tested and did not meet their labeled SPF and PA values. However, in 2021, Dear, Klairs removed their old products from the shelves and launched new ones in 2022 that have been fully tested and verified by at least three institutions. I haven’t tried the old version of this sunscreen, so I cannot compare, but the current SPF Index has been tested and verified by the Korea Dermatology Research Institute, Global Cosmeceutical Center by Semyung University, and Cosmeservice.
