Cult Beauty The Expert-Approved Edit 2025 Review
Welcome to my review of the Cult Beauty The Expert-Approved Edit 2025 . The edit features 8 beauty products worth over £235. Let’s take a look at what’s inside, along with my thoughts on each item.
Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser (30ml) – a gentle, moisturising cleanser that thoroughly cleanses the skin without stripping it. The formula is enriched with grape seed oil, jojoba seed oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, sunflower extract, aloe leaf juice, rice bran extract, xylitylglucoside, xylitol, anhydroxylitol, lactose, milk protein, lactic acid, goat milk, and honey extract. I’ve used this cleanser for years, and it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft without irritating or drying it.
Augustinus Bader The Essence (8ml) – a 3-in-1 solution that works as a gentle exfoliant, a purifying toner, and a hydrating essence. The formula contains TFC8®, gluconolactone, salicylic acid, papain, phytic acid, wasabi extract, green tea extract, peony extract, glycerin, phenylalanine, hyaluronic acid, hydrolysed rice protein, and maltodextrin. I’ve been wanting to try this essence for a while, so I’m really happy it’s included in the box.
Dr. LEVY Switzerland Fire & Snow (5×2 sachets, worth £50.50) – a 5-day intensive skincare treatment that gently exfoliates to reveal smoother, softer skin with a youthful-looking glow, while replenishing moisture and supporting skin elasticity. I’ve used three sachets and already love it. I was worried the fire step might be a bit too intense, but it feels very gentle on the skin. It has left my skin feeling much smoother, clearer, and glowy, healthy and plump.
Paula’s Choice PRO Retinaldehyde Dual-Retinoid Treatment (30ml, worth £63, Full Size) – a high-potency dual-retinoid treatment formulated with 0.1% retinaldehyde (retinal) and 0.16% Adapinoid®. Given all the positive reviews, I’m really interested in trying it.
Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 (4ml) – an overnight serum with 0.06% retinaldehyde that helps reduce wrinkles while firming, lifting, smoothing, and brightening the skin. It is formulated with retinal, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, squalane, moringa seed oil, and carrot seed oil. I’m a big fan of Medik8’s retinoid range, as it really improves the look of my fine lines.
Shiseido Expert Sun Protector Lotion SPF 30 (50ml, worth £36, Full Size) – a facial sun cream for all skin types with SPF 30 (octocrylene, titanium dioxide, and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane). The formula features glycerin, hyaluronic acid, seaweed complex, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, aminoethanesulfinic acid, saxifraga sarmentosa extract, green tea extract, safflower extract, and rose-apple extract. I like trying new SPF products, and I’m looking forward to giving this one a try.
U Beauty Super Hydrator (10ml) – an intense face moisturiser formulated with squalane, shea butter, argan oil, avocado oil, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil, maracuja oil, hyaluronic acid, peptides (palmitoyl tripeptide-8, N-prolyl palmitoyl tripeptide-56 acetate, acetyl hexapeptide-37, polyglyceryl-4), sorbitol, antioxidants (vitamin C, superoxide dismutase, glutathione), and panthenol.
Caudalie VinoHydra Gel Moisturiser (60ml, worth £20, Full Size) – a lightweight silicone-free moisturiser formulated with grape water, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, grape juice, aloe leaf juice, squalane, and sunflower seed oil. It feels lightweight yet hydrating, making it perfect for my combination skin in summer.
