COSRX Ultra-Light Invisible Sunscreen Review
Hi everyone! In this review, I want to discuss the COSRX Ultra-Light Invisible Sunscreen. After testing it for a while, I’m ready to share my experience with you.
The formula contains drometrizole trisiloxane (also known as Mexoryl XL, which provides both UVA and UVB protection), ethylhexyl triazone (also known as Uvinul T 150, which provides one of the highest levels of photostable UVB protection available), diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (also known as Uvinul A Plus, which protects against UVA rays), and terephthalylidene dicamphor sulfonic acid (also known as Mexoryl SX, which protects against UVA rays), providing broad spectrum protection with both UVB and UVA coverage.
Additionally, a blend of emollients and humectants (including hyaluronic acid and aloe leaf water) helps soften the skin and attract and retain moisture. Aloe leaf water, adenosine, allantoin, and niacinamide also help soothe and condition the skin.
The COSRX Ultra-Light Invisible Sunscreen has a light, lotion-like consistency that absorbs quickly, leaving no white cast. As you spread it over the skin, it becomes more watery and gives a slight cooling sensation. It doesn’t feel sticky or greasy and dries down to a natural finish that is not too dewy or too matte. This formula suits my combination skin well, although those with dry skin may prefer a more hydrating formula or pair it with a richer moisturiser.
As I’ve mentioned before, I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts during the warmer months and around my period. The COSRX Ultra-Light Invisible Sunscreen doesn’t cause breakouts or irritation and doesn’t sting my eyes. However, it tends to pill under my foundation and skin tint, as well as over certain serums. As a result, I can only use it on bare skin or on days when I have plenty of time to let each layer of my morning routine fully settle.
Unfortunately, the COSRX Ultra-Light Invisible Sunscreen is a miss for me. It has a lovely texture, but it pills on my skin almost every time I wear it. With so many great sunscreens out there, this isn’t one I’d repurchase.
