Here’s my quick review of the Coco & Eve Like A Virgin Super Nourishing Coconut & Fig Hair Masque, which promises to restore dull, damaged hair to its “virgin” condition. Let’s see how it performs.
The formula contains a blend of conditioning agents, anti-static agents, and silicone-based polymers to smooth the hair, improve manageability, and help hydrate dry strands, while providing anti-static, anti-frizz, detangling, and shine-enhancing benefits. Additionally, a blend of argan oil, castor oil, pequi oil, shea butter ethyl esters, coconut extract, selaginella lepidophylla extract, fig extract, and glycerin helps soften and condition the hair.
Hydrolysed linseed seed helps support elasticity and smooth the hair surface, while the Mineral Complex (consisting of five fermented essential minerals: zinc, iron, silicon, copper, and magnesium) helps support barrier function, increase growth factor expression, reduce stress-related factors, and support cellular energy production. Through fermentation, these minerals are transformed into more bioavailable forms that can be more easily utilised by the hair and scalp.
The Coco & Eve Like A Virgin Hair Masque has a nice, thick texture that spreads easily through the hair. The scent is tropical, coconutty, and summery, but not overpowering.
For context, I have fine, thin hair that’s colour-treated, damaged, and prone to dryness and tangling. Honestly, I really wanted to love this mask. It has a lovely thick texture, the scent is gorgeous, and it did leave my hair feeling soft. Unfortunately, after a few uses, I started noticing that my scalp felt itchy after washing, and my hair looked limp and weighed down. I think it’s just too heavy for my hair.
To sum it up, I’m not impressed with the Coco & Eve Like A Virgin Hair Masque, and it just doesn’t work for my fine hair.
