Augustinus Bader The Retinol Serum Review

Augustinus Bader The Retinol Serum Review

In today’s post, I want to discuss the Augustinus Bader Retinol Serum, powered by the brand’s signature TFC8 complex. Let’s see how it performs and if it really justifies the price tag.

Augustinus Bader The Retinol Serum

The formula contains retinol (0.06%) that supports the skin’s natural cell renewal processes. It helps reduce the appearance of blemishes, post blemish marks, fine lines, and wrinkles, while regulating excess oil and improving tone and texture. Additionally, a blend of emollients and occlusives including squalane, soybean oil, shea butter, and sunflower seed oil softens the skin and helps prevent moisture loss. The formula also contains TFC8®, an exclusive blend of natural amino acids, high grade vitamins, and peptides that is clinically shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation, while edelweiss extract helps to firm the skin.

A blend of zinc PCA, niacinamide, black pepper extract, magnolia bark extract, and manuka helps to target breakouts, reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, and improve dull, uneven skin tone, while supporting the skin’s microbiome for a healthier looking complexion. The formula also contains a blend of humectants including glycerin, PCA, panthenol, niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, and ectoin to hydrate the skin. In addition, vitamin B6, vitamin E, green tea extract, reynoutria japonica extract, totarol, calcium pantothenate, and ectoin provide antioxidant protection.

The Augustinus Bader Retinol Serum has a lightweight texture that spreads easily and feels hydrating on the skin. It absorbs quickly and does not feel sticky or greasy when worked in as directed. I can use it every other day without irritation, dryness, or other adverse reactions. The serum also has a slightly funny, plasticky smell, but it’s very faint and doesn’t bother me.

I’ve been using this serum for two months, and I’ve noticed that my skin looks more even and smoother overall. It feels comfortable and soothing, without being drying. It leaves my skin moisturised, plump, and brighter. While I do like it, I have to say that the Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 delivers more noticeable results for me.

Augustinus Bader Review

To sum it up, I’ve enjoyed using the Augustinus Bader Retinol Serum. However, I haven’t seen a dramatic enough difference to justify the price, especially when there are other alternatives on the market that work better and don’t cost a fortune.
